So, I have asked this before in the reviews section but never really get a solid answer:

I swear I have seen JC Penney, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Lowe's and Dillard's Discover Cards. Thing is, there is nothing on the Internet about them and GEMB does not let you apply for one as far as I know.

Does anybody have one of these cobranded Discover Card's? How do you get one? The only thing I can think of is that GEMB repurposed people (giving someone who has not used there card in multiple eons a new Discover version) or they are used to retain a would be account closer.

Any info? I am specifically looking at Eric since he used to work for them......

Sad thing is that I dont even really want one, I am just wicked nosey and I want to know. The reason I know these exist is because GE will report it on credit bureaus as GEMB/JCPENNEYDC or GEMB/GAPDC and the account number will start 6011.:dumbfounded:

why wait? If you have paid off your cap one bill, can we not assume that your either currently paying down your other outstanding accounts or have paid them off completely. If this is true why not reapply right away ? They pull your report, see your progress and make the decision based on current criteria.

Ive read on some posts here that after you pay off your balance I think its best yu give it some time before you try applying again. I guess they have to see that you have shown responsibility in paying your bills and improvment in your credit scores.

Hello everyone, I have a question about Capital One forgiveness. Well, here is my story. Sometime ago I had a Cap One card and I defaulted on it and I wanted to know if I should contact them to pay off the balance that was due could I then get back in their good graces. The default happened over eight years ago well over the SOL for my state.

So has anyone here been in a similar situation?

TIA,

rwmtd :cheesing:

The only way to get the REAL FICO is by http://www.myfico.com/Products/Products.aspx or through http://www.equifax.com/credit-score-watch/ but for Equifax only.

Chase ID Protection]I tried it but did not like it what so ever.... The range for the FAKO Score was between 150-930 when the REAL FICO ranges from 300-850...

I have TrueCredit which I absolutely love... It is very user friendly, everything is displayed very neatly and easy to find. That is a big plus for me since im a neat freak... I pay $14.95/month. I get all 3 CR and all 3 FAKO's that range 300-850. I do not know how close it is to the REAL FICO but Ive read that the FICO is usually higher than what TC shows. You can pull every 24hrs if you wanted to. But I only do once a CC has cycled or when a few have cycled just to make sure they reported correctly.

Pumbaablah, I use freecreditreport.com but I heard a lot of people using MyCreditKeeper which allows you to pull your reports once a month at the end of the month. I believe Meya uses MyCreditKeeper and hope she can step-in and give you some more info. As of right now, there aren't monitoring services that will you give all of your FICO scores except for EQ Scorewatch. I'm not too sure about the details, but here's a link to the product page.

what is the best credit monitoring service out there that is not too expensive to use? I am using the chaseidprotection.com site which is okay but it doesnt have the fico scores that I want. It gives an estimate which I dont know how close it is to the real score.

anyone?

If you have recently opened several new accounts in a short amount of time then your application could have been flagged as possible fraud. It happens alot especially if you live in Southern California (San Fernando Valley area esp Glendale). It is called bust out fraud, what people will do is open a lot of new accounts in a short amount of time, charge them up and then let them charge off without ever paying.

Chase may want a clear copy of your driver's license and a copy of a recent utlitiy bill to prove your identity or they may want income verification.

I have seen the credit reports of a lot of early 20 somethings and they seem to have a nice mid 700 score even if they only have one or two accounts that are a year old. Not sure why it happens that way.

Hope that answers some of your questions, the only way to know is to wait for the snail mail to bring you your envelope.

i was thinking the same thing i found it kinda off that they would want me to reply to a letter when i was already on the phone with them.
i was giving it some though and it maybe a slick way to verify my address and ask for a copy of my ssn card a bill at the same address and my photo id.
short history, alot of new credit, score up a bit more than it should and age 37 with nothing pass 2006 on my report i think that would raise a BIG red flag. i guess chase is thinking someone has got a hold of a dead mans info and starting a new life with it lol.

I have my fingers crossed for you. But, what are they sending you a letter out for when they could have asked you across the phone? Unless they want you to fax something in, I would say, wait until you receive the letter first and then lets go from there. Unless someone else can provide some info you. Mines was straight DENIED!

The cold part about it, it took so long until I forgot I applied for it

Help
i did an app online for chase and was given the 7 - 10 day message so i called and spoke with a credit rep and he told me i was denied but after asking me a few things about what was on my report about why i had so many accounts and why i did not have much history, so he told me to hold for a sec after asking me how much to i pay on the cards i have and i told him if they are less than 100 then they get paid off for the month and anything over gets 100 or more so he told me that he was going to see if the system was going to let him give me 1500cl and came back and told me it was 1500cl but they will send out a letter asking for some info.
does this mean i will get the card? does anyone know what they will be asking for in this letter?
dammm i want in with chase so bad

Smcc, thanks for the post. I'm really working hard on paying off my debt so my scores can improve. I'm also going to wait 2 years until my inquiries fall off because I'm going to apply for a couple of cards that are offered by local credit unions. I also have to wait a couple of years to buy another car so I can get a good interest rate to save some money.
