I have a question. I have more on my credit card as a credit then i owe. Its only a few bucks. Do you think I can just leave the credit on there and not use the card? Do you think that it will close due to inactivity even though theres a credit on it? Just wondering

Have a credit card question, if you have credit balances on your credit card how is this reported to the Credit Bureau's ? a zero balance, or do they (the Associations, i.e. VISA, MC, AMEX, CITI, etc.,) report the true negative balance ? If they do report the true negative balance and its a no pre set spending limit card how does this affect your score ?

Thanks !

AmyB, I used the no transaction fee purchases from Capital One and I wasn't charged any fees. I have a checking account with BOA so they credited my account with the check amount the next business day. It took anywhere from a good 4-7 days for the purchase check to show up on my Capital One account online.

Thanks for the answer HJM!

I would take it for a test drive and see if you can make a purchase with the card.

Its all cool. I registerd my card on line and my statement just came in the mail today. I am all good. I think that mycreditkeeper is either slow or they did a soft pull.

HJM, I think I read that you use the Capital One purchase checks. I have never used them before, but I wrote 2 out to myself and put them in my regular checking account to pay some of my other credit cards off and have the balance on just 2 cards until next month. My question is, how long does it take for the money to come out of the available credit on my Cap one cards? I want to pay off my other credit cards, but I want to make sure that the checks clear first. I don't need my bank giving me any fees. Thanks in advance for your response!

I have a question about Kay's. I am hearing in the reviews that there was some denials from them because of past defaults with their affiliates. What has me wondering is that these individuals did not receive a hard hit on their credit reports neither. OK, I have never defaulted with any jewelry store and I was approved. The only problem is that I never received a hard hit on my cr. Is this a sign that they are going to end up denying me even after receiving their merchandise?

Replied by smcc on topic World Mastercard With World Points

Ok guys need some opinions. I have a Visa Signature and BankAmericard with BOA. 10K Limit with the Visa Signature and 31K with the Bank Americard. I am thinking of going for the WORLD MASTERCARD WITH WORLD POINTS. This card like the Visa Signature has no pre set spending limit. Since BOA will not issue me any more credit because I have hit the ceiling based on my income, I'm thinking of applying and moving 10K from my BankAmericard to the WORLD POINTS MASTERCARD WITH WORLD POINTS. This move would appear on my credit report as (20K) to be "Flexible Spending (no pre set spending limit on two cards)" and the other 21K as a standard limit on my BankAmericard. At this point I would have 3 cards but no increase in limit as the limit has been diversified amongst the three cards.

Now the question, with this move what is the possiblity of increasing my credit score from where it currently is ? Will two "Flexible Spending" accounts move my score at all or will it remain dormant?

Thanks for your time and input

It will come off of who gave you the info of it dropping. The others will fall also, I would not be surprised if they all fall of before time. It happened to me.

okay I just got a verification from transunion today and it said that the merrick account which is my only CO account will fall off 4/09. does that mean that it will fall off experian and equifax as well? I hope it does! it would be a nice boost in my score.
