That's the card that I have. I would apply for it and see what happens. Not to get your hopes but it should be an instant approval, that's how I was approved.

Sorry, I forgot that the Weekender gives you that page. Yeah, I hope you didn't apply for it. Try the Cash or Fly Mastercard or the Platinum Rewards Mastercard.

Sorry about that.

I applied for the
HSBC Platinum MasterCard® with Cash Back Rewards

and they are proposing me the "HSBC MasterCard with Cash Back Rewards"]Earn a full 1% cash back on every card purchase
No earnings caps, complicated spending requirements or tiers
0% Introductory APR on card purchases and balance transfers for 12 months*
Variable APR as low as 8.99%*
No annual fee
It looks like a good deal, doesn't it? Should I apply?

Use the HSBC "pre-selector" site to see what they pre-approve you for. It's a soft pull but if you accept the offer, the will pull your report. In my experience, I haven't been denied for a pre-approval that I've accepted.

It's definitely worth a try. When you click on the link, it will show you a couple of cards. I would go with the Weekender card since it gives you 2% cashback on all purchases made on Saturday and Sunday. Click on "start now", click it again on the following site, then fill out the app and see what they pre-approve you for. However, don't apply for it without posting the results here first. We will tell you if it's a good card or not.

I am not sure where to stop in the pre-application process:
I filled in the pre-application form, and clicked on continue. Then, I arrive to the "Agree to terms and Conditions" page, the Weekend Card is indicated here and it looks like it is proposing me to apply definitively to the card.
Does this mean that my pre-application for the weekend card was "accepted"? Or are the results supposed to arrive by email?

HSBC will not deny you for 4 inquiries. They've approved me for a card with a $3,000 limit with 20+ inquiries on EX.

Thank you so much. But should not I wait a few months because of my 4 inquiries within the past year? If not than I will do it right away.

Yeah, Cap 1 reports to all three bureaus. The FICO scoring system wants consumers to have at least two bank cards so you're going to have to get one more major credit card. HSBC cards are a good choice for credit rebuilders as long as you're willing to pay the annual fee.

arg... I should have asked you guys before... Ok when should I apply next time? I have a FICO score of over 661, a credit history of 1 year and 3 months, plus the last application is going to be my 4 inquiries in the past year. I always pay my balance in full each month.

Do you currently have any credit cards that are reporting to all 3 bureaus?

I wouldn't cancel the application, it will come in handy later and you will regret canceling it.

I have one CapitalOne, I assume they are reporting to the 3 bureaus.

:relieved: They actually report to Equifax and TransUnion but not to Experian.
In order to build my credit history, is it bad that they don't report to Experian?

A hidden tradeline is an account that doesn't show up on your credit reports. If you're approved, you can use it to your advantage do a BT onto the new card and creditors won't able to see it since it doesn't show up on your credit reports.

Arg... I am actually trying to build my credit history... So it is no good for me... A hard pull and no benefice... I am going to call them now to verify, and try to cancel my application, if it is not too late.
