With the way the economy is right now, I don't think anyone can afford to have that many credit cards and stay on top of their credit game.

I read that Mervyns recently filed for bankruptcy. SO what does that mean for its credit card holders??????

They are filing a reorganization Chapter 11 bankruptcy that allows them to continue to do business during the bankruptcy. If/when they do close down shop I am sure the top tier customers might be transferred to a Wal-Mart card like they did with the Montgomery Ward cards and the rest will just be closed.

The cardholders are ok, if any affect will happen, it will be a temp halt on cli's. They are just trying to budget for overhead and employee expenses.

hey what was the upgrade? waiving the installments or annual fees? I would have asked them to stop the installment fees and no longer add the annual fee and keep the card open. Did you close this card?

YoYo11, it was the monthly frees (although I did ask if the annual fee could be reduced). I didn't close the account since it is my oldest (I'm waiting until BofA secured card turns one). I won't use it.

I have had my Victoria's Secret card since about April of this year and used it quite heavily, would it be a good time to ask for a CLI? In the past month, I have been upgraded to an Angel's VIP card and have gotten a $10 reward (which I used).

Hello all, well I've sent in my final payment into tribute and I am done with them. Today, I get a call from them telling me what a great customer I've been and the want to give me an upgrade! lol, I almost fell out of my chair I said thanks but no thanks. The end
