Top 7 Investments to Boost Your Home’s Value

Top 7 Investments to Boost Your Home’s Value

You can spend your money on whatever you want, but some purchases are better than others. Anything you can do to boost the value of your home is well worth considering.

But here is the question: which projects generate the most bang for your buck? Well, here are the top seven investments (in no particular order) in regards to boosting your home’s value:

1. Landscape Makeover

Not only does this improve the curb appeal of your home, but it won’t set you back an arm and a leg. With a few dollars and a bit of hard work, you can quickly transform the exterior appeal of your property.

2. Fresh paint. There is nothing worse than a home that hasn’t been painted in 25 years. Again, this is a simple project that anyone can take on.

3. Updated plumbing and electrical. It may not be the most exciting project, but it can go a long way in increasing the value of your home. If your plumbing system is old and outdated, it is time for an upgrade.

4. New flooring. In today’s day and age, there are more options to choose from than ever before. For instance, engineered, laminate, and real hardwood floors are all the rage. This can quickly transform your living space, while also boosting the value of your property.

5. Bathroom renovation. You can put as much or as little time and money as you want into upgrading your bathroom. Just make sure that the end result is a room that people will want to spend time in.

6. Basement renovation. Do you have an unfinished basement? It’s time to finish it out, which adds more square footage to your home. When you do this, the value of your home has no choice but to increase.

7. Kitchen renovation. You knew this one was coming. There is no better way to add value to your home than by renovating your kitchen. From a full gut job to a project that only consists of new countertops, a kitchen renovation will always work in your favor.

What do you think about these seven investments? Can you think of any others to add to the list?

I could not agree more with #5 and #7. Those are the top 2 items a buyer looks for when purchasing a house. You should get your return on those investments and will help make your house more marketable.
