Sadly to say, none of them are 100%, but myfico is known to be closer to accuracy.:worried:

Thank you! I think I found a legit service that Citibank offers. I might try that or the one offered by Discover. I just really want accurate information. That Credit Keeper seemed really off.

You can buy your "official" credit scores from myfico.com. FICO scores are what lenders look at when you apply for an auto or home loan.

I use freecreditreport.com and I can pull my credit report once everyday if I wanted to.

MY.Fico.com will only allow you to pull TransUnion and Equifax. You can no longer pull Experian any longer. You used to be able to. Experian has gone off the MY FICO system as of early in 2009' To get that one, you'll have to go through them direct, or thru Freecreditreport.com.

May I ask for some of the sites you guys use to track your credit score? I'm currently using Credit Keeper and it doesn't seem very up-to-date. So if anyone has any better suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them! Thanks

So Eugene66, can I assume that for Tier 1 financing 740 is what I need now or is 720 still the threshold ?

For tier 1 financing you need a score of 741 and over, scores below that put you in a different credit bracket(the median credit score is720).all of my scores are now over 700 but still below 740 and according to My Fico if my scores reaches 741+ i would receive the best possible rates available.720 is still a great score but in this credit environment 741+ gets you the best.

Congrats MsKiwi! That's great news! I agree with not applying for any credit right now. I'm in the same boat, working on becoming debt-free and letting my inquiries fall off.

I can't wait to apply for credit with a couple of CU's in 2011.

your scores were always higher and you are my "hero" You have had some hard times with creditors you know what? They are gonna "BEG YOU" in the future, so be selective. You are golden.

MsKiwi brought up something that someone out there can confirm, is 740 the new 720 based on the current economic crisis ?

  • Excellent (741+)
  • Good (661-740)
  • Fair (581-660)
  • Poor (580 & below)
This is the credit rating grade according to My Fico.

since this is a thread on scores, I thought I'd add that my scores are moving on up. I'm at 637 EQ and 620 TU (last time it was available my EX scores were 20 points or so higher than my other scores and EX was always my best score)

I started in the low 500's so this is progress. I will say that I got an invite for the Discover More but no way in Heck I'm apping for that with scores this low. Maybe in a year. I'm laying low and trying to avoid radar from anyone and waiting until I am golden. I'm just paying on time and working it out. I don't app much and only have 1-2 inq on each report. When I do app for what I really want I'll be next to zero on inq's and that should make people happy (as long as my reports don't get any hits)

edited because I can't spell and I had a few cocktails after work. Gotta love rum and coke.
