Kforbes, the next step up are prime cards and you will not get approved for prime cards with baddies on your reports. I suggest that you get those baddies removed from your reports before applying for any prime cards.

i hope everyone is doing great. anyone know what are good "fair credit" cards to graduate to are? i have been re-building over a year now, still have lots of collection accounts on my reports. the oldest ones are going on 4 years old now, the youngest are around close to 2 years.

i now have 2 first premier, $200, $300. hsbc $300. wfnnb $300. wells fargo that just unsecured $750. and a $1,000 personal installment loan from cardinal bank, which i have been paying 3 months out of 12 month term. my scores were low 500's this time last year, and now they are tu, 585, ex, 597, and eq, only 545. eq is really lagging because of medical collections that are only on eq report. are there better cards that i could be upgrading to? or should i let my scores climb a little more before trying? i recently tried for hooters and was denied. my total util is at about 34%

you will definitle learn a lot, i know i have in the last year. there are a lot of very knoledgeable and helpfull people here. i have been re-building my credit for the last year, and have had lots of success because of all that i have learned

I thought my household bank card that i just got had no fees. every bit of paperwork i got said nothing about any fee. now i get my first statement and they are charging me 8.00 a month for a periodic membership fee. that is more fees than first premier is charging me. i think i will be closing the account out.

My first unsecured prime credit card!!! I have had the wells fargo secured card for a while now. i just opened an hsbc card last month, yesterday i got notice from wells fargo, they are returning my $500 and raising my limit to $750 effective next billing cycle. my new card will be the wells fargo rewards visa. My credit is steadily improving, excited about the card upgrade. i will use the deposit i get back to raise my limit on my other secured card.

I now have first premier, hsbc, wfnnb, wells fargo, citi, and cardinal bank, a local bank around the washington, d.c. area reporting every month.

just need to keep myself from all the inquaries and opening new accounts for a while now and i will be doing pretty good

i just looked at myfico for my transunion report, i think my highest score.... it is 585 right now. kinda disappointed, i have worked hard for the last year. i do know all the inquaries are hurting though. without them i might be at 600. i will be soon though. i also noticed there was a inquarie from two weeks ago from a collection agency?? why would an inquarie be there from them. i never authorized them to make one.
