Has Bofa made changes?

I disagree hjm331. If your report is reviewed manually and they see that you have a No Pre Set Spending Limit/FSA, they, (the loan officer) has to take into account that the balance shown could be over/under the limit given for the card and if they (the loan officer) wanted to really do his research he could call whomever within the credit issuer to find out your true limit.

My score went down 6 points on Equifax (713 to 707) because I have 8 inquiries in the month of August when I was shopping for a car. Have had the Visa Signature since Sept 08 and thus far has shown no negative implication to my credit score. Of course at the moment I have a zero balance on the card also.

Smcc, does BOA report the limit to your credit report every month? Does it report as a revolving account or installment loan?

Yes, they have limits but the limits aren't reported to your credit limit. The thing with no-preset limits is that you can go over your limit but you have to pay the difference between your credit limit and your current balance that put you over your limit before the statement cuts.

Speaking of Countrywide... I was notified at work (Citi) that customer data was being sold by an employee..

Just did a google search:

"Countrywide Financial, which is now owned by Bank of America, said it would provide two years of free credit monitoring for customers whose confidential data were allegedly stolen by a former employee."

You have all heard by now that BOA owns Merrill Lynch. They have also acquired Country Wide in the past. Merrill Lynch was one of the largest, if not thee largest Brokerage house in the Country if not the world. BOA has aquired 16,000 extra brokers and the ability to basically finance any worthwhile project on the planet. They are bigger than Chase, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, etc..

BOA will now be able to provide you services that can't be matched by any of their competitors. I know there are many here who despise BOA but the thing is now when the dust settles and the Housing Market corrects itself, the banks going under becomes less frequent, the private sector either helps or watches AIG go under, BOA will still be standing.

Realize that Country Wide and Merrill have bad loans on the books but BOA will absorb this and continue on.

Kind of reminds you of the days of Standard Oil, U.S. Steel, the Mellons, J.P. Morgan and the Carnegies of this world and Now their is BOA.

Rob, that would a good move for you to open a checking account with them. They offer free checking accounts and they are called "MyAccess Checking."

BOA is all about relationships, the more accounts you have and as long as you can keep them in good standing, they will take care of you.

They use to have this deal where it says "If you are in line for more than 5 (or 10) minutes you will receive $5. Well guess what, they got broke! Every time I went there I was guaranteed a pack of cigs because I knew I would be in line more than 5 minutes. It was usually 20 minutes with only 4 people ahead of you. :upset:

Have you noticed one thing about bofa that I don't too much hear about at any other banks. I noticed that their system is much faster and their customer service is excellent and quick. Except for where I live at, those tellers are hoochies with attitudes. But, I've known them all my life nearly and we just chop it up.

For instance, if you come in there with check(s), cash, withdraw, or deposit, you are never at the desk for long. They use only a few key strokes and out comes your receipt. Now WellsFagro and US Bank is different, seems like they are typing a research paper when you make one lil funky deposit. I asked a teller, "What all do you have to do when someone is making a deposit?" She just slumped down in her seat and said, "Too much unnecessary BS!"

As for US Bank, I work next to one and dont do much banking there but know the people that work there. Techincally the tellers are not bankers but sales people. They are guided by a banking computer program and it searches for available "offers" then if its there they must try to upsell it. I too am dissatisfied with their "5 Star" service as it takes forever to get out and they have crazy fees (not that I ever had any imposed on me). It was as a secondary account.

Excellento! I love them, they have forgave me for a lot of things that I did to them in the past. You do not have to be on hold for a long time with them, and they dont look at you funny when you are down to .02 cents in the bank.:fun:

I, like hjm331, am a BOA customer and they are good to me also. I think that BOA bends over backwards because like every other bank, they are fighting for customers, big and small, and if great customer interaction will give them the edge, then so be it !
