My aunt bought a home in Jeykll Island, Georgia. She has owned it for 4 years. The rent pays the mortgage each month. She has to rent it at least 2 weeks each month to cover the mortgage. I wish I could afford to do the same.

Anyone here currently or ever have interest in buying a home in a tourist "hot spot" and renting it during the season?

My wife and I have looked into this where we live and it seems like some of the houses here rent for around $1,500/week during prime season. Of course, being in Michigan, the season is shorter unless you are by a ski resort or something of that nature.
