MaryM, have you tried calling the Cap 1 backdoor number and asking for a CLI? GEMB is rather strange when it comes to issuing CLI's.

Yes hjm331 I called the other day and they told me that they would send me a letter within 7-10 business days.

I was really surprised that I was approved for a CLI being that my account was so new and I still have a balance on it. Although I do remember paying it for 3 months, the specialist said its been open for 2 months. The good thing is that its all done without a hard pull.

I call the phone number on the letter and the person said that he was sorry, but i did not have the card for six months and c/s should have told me that. He said that all cards get a CLI automatically after 6 months..I said ok..he was nice.

Dont worry YoYo, you are going to get the cli but I do believe it is going to show in the 7 month statement. Pam's was slow also, but she finally got her's. It will be here, and yes, you are correct, they want us to wait 6 months before the first increase.:

I read about calling in before the creditsteps kicks in for CapitalOne to get an increase. Well, I thought to myself, it wouldnt hurt so jsut give it a try. I called this morning, and the senior account specilist or whatever theyre called gave me the whole script thing, asked me as to what my increase may be used for. Told them a larger purchase. SO she went through my account with me and stated that my account has only been open for 2 months with good payment history, I thought my chances were shot. Then she stated that they can give me a $500 increase. I accepted, now my total line of credit is up to $1000 in two months and if the creditsteps pulls through itll $1250.
