Wrong again!
1. I have to send in an updated report from the one they pulled.
2. The charge off will have to been gone
3. Now this rep told me to wait 2 months before applying again but I will take a hard hit for the platinum.
I give up, I will just wiat until I know it is all good.
Thanks so much everyone, I do believe that this denial put me in a better relationship with the bank that I always called "Chittybank!"
Thanks for the good info, you may have saved quite a few people from an uneccessary inquiry.
You are doing the right thing and in the end *that is what matters and will pay off.

Follow up with a recon:
Well I lost, but I feel better knowing why. You can not, as a student have no more than $10k available debt in cc's. So I went with my FG members advice and tried to get the platinum select. Here is the problem, how dumb can I be, when I thought that my co was off of my ex report, when it was the eq report that it had fallen from:embarrassed:. I would have never went this route if that was the case. The last rep never told me about it either. He just told me it was the debt/income thingy.
My ex and Tu shows the old co, and she told me that my income, inq, and debt would not be a problem for the reg platinum card, but the old co could put me back in denial again. Listen up members, this is what the very nice rep told me. Citi would approve you with a past debt, but the debt can not be reported as "late" on the Cr for the past 2 years. Yes, it can still show, but as long as they have not reported anything for the past 2 years. That is my only problem with them.
Do I feel bad anymore, "HECK NO" because I do believe that my time will come as soon as my last baddie fall off less than one year. Now I have a good understanding with citi and where they are coming from. I know what they are looking for when it comes down to util, you can have 90% util on a few cards but as long as they see 0-30% on majority of your cards, you are still good to go with them (she did say in some occasions).
The rep name was Sharon and she was a really nice person, she wish she could better assist me, but unfortunately, she did all that she could, by providing me with confident info. If one of the baddies left within 30 days, and I sent them updated info, I could then ask over the phone to apply for the platinum and I would better stand a chance. But, that is not going to happen.
I was thinking about calling back and asking them to pull from my Tu or eq for the platinum card and see if they can do it. I have heard this before but I am not for sure how true it is since I do know that they pull from ex at least 95% of the time.

Do you think they would smile like this when we talk[/quote]
A call is in order and I've heard they are fairly reasonable with recon's. If you don't like the 1st rep, hang up and call again.

I got a denial everyone!
Well here is my reason. They said that my current available debit in comparison to my income was too high. OK Citibank, what in the heck are you talking about? My highest credit card (or charge account) is only $5k and only $615 is used from that one. My util is about at 60% on some cards and as low as 10% on others. I have a baddie on eq and Tu that is about to fall off next year. I came at you guys with a clean ex report and you guys still denied me. I do believe that they are using my student loans against my debt. That is the only thing that I can see because it has me in debt for $60K but the bad part about that is THEY ARE ALL IN DEFERMENT!
Here is what trips me out. OK, I was not denied for high util nor was I denied for the charge off. The card specifically said that there was "No min income requirement" & " NO co signer needed" If that was case, what did that mean toward me? Please don't tell me that they are judging me according where I shop or live! That is the only thing that I can see.
It's time for the big re-con everyone. Wish me luck because I am going for a battle with this one. I need the back door number and a glass of Bacardi, it's about time me and citi had a talk!

Thanks you two, Thoms1 just gave me something to think about. I was denied flat out the first time I applied. This time, they are going to do some verification. After hearing that and seeing you guys postings, I sort of feel good.
Mrrob, you now I am not going anywhere, I would rather start over with 100 inqs before I leave here (FG)....lol.
I did call today though, the number that he gave me was for people who already have cards, but the rep gave me the CC Status # which is 1-888-201-4523. The automated system said they did not have any info and that it can take up to 2 weeks. That is too long, I am calling everyday...lol. Just incase someone has applied, we can refer them to this number above. Until then, I am going to kick back and relax then see what's up for tommorow.

hjm331, I did not accept the offer for the directs rewards discover. I didnt like he annual fee of 59 dollars. Thats what I pay for on the Orchard Bank card. I have a few cards now with snnual fees already so Im just going to stick with what I have for now. My one and only charge off with fall off in 5 09' so i'll just be patient. Nomore inquiries for me till then. Too many. That is also around the time my secured bofa should be unsecured.
My cards:
Home depot...750
wamu...750
bofa...300 secured
orchard...300 secured
I cant see myself having too many cards like some people do. I think I'll get myself in trouble.no balance on any of them..I believe after that charge off falls I should be in good shape. with about 1 year of good history i should be able to get some better cards with better cl's

Meya, one day at a time, one step at a time. If the Lord doesn't open this door, he has something else even better in store for you. Continue to do what you have been doing all this time, paying your bills on time and helping all of us learn something about credit and how to manage it. The Lord hasn't forgot you and he is working in the background to see your dreams come true !

Meya, even though I have a lot of prime cards, my favorite out of all them is Capital One. It gives me cash back, gives CLI's every 6 months like clockwork, and reports pretty quickly. They also are very fast with processing payments and posting transactions which is key for me.

Meya,
don't worry yourself sick (we need you here on the boards). If it doesn't happen this time, eventually you will get the cards that you desire, your on the right track. I had them all at one time (AMEX, Citi, Chase, Discover), thay are all the same. Hang in there
