rebuildme's review: I opened my account with boa in 02/2008. it was a secured card because of my credit history...(bankruptcy) I initially put $300 in the account to get it started, I then added an additional $600 over the past few months for a total credit line of $900 well today I called to get the card upgraded and they released my secured funds back to me and they also gave me an additonal $500 limit for a total of $1400 credit line it was well worth taking the time to open this account and manage it. It only took 10months and 2 weeks of a good payment history

That's Awesome!!! on 2008-12-15
Congratulations, and you didn't have to wait 12 months like some other people were made to. I guess banks still have a little faith. Enjoy your new freedom; more opportunities and offers will soon follow. Do you know what your current credit score is compared to what it was when you initially opened the account?

Congrats... on 2008-12-15
It feels good to have a nice limit during the rebuilding phase. I wish I had taken this route when I started rebuilding (by opening up a secured card) because than I wouldn't have wasted so much money on my other loser cards (Continental, Imagine, Plains Commerce and Cortrust). Thankfully, I have gotten rid of most of those cards (I have one more to pay off next month) and I will be completely rid of them.

Rebuildme and that's for responding. Keep up the good work and you'll be in the 700 club in no time. Keep utilization low and make payments on time and watch your score soar.

I Am So Happy For You! on 2008-12-16
This is so wonderful that BOA has un-secured your card. That says a lot for the company and with the current situation happening in our country they are still willing to put trust in you. That is great and I hope the same thing happens to me in about six months. I have something to look forward too when they un-secure me.
GREAT JOB!

Payments? on 2008-12-17
Did you make the payment in full each month or did you make minimum payments? Thank you, I am looking to get one of these for my husband... But wanted to also know if you were able to do this all online or only at the bank... Do you know what was the minimum deposit amount you could make after opening the account?

Requested Info on 2008-12-17
I currently have a checking account with boa, so when I applied I did it over the internet my account was funded after being approved for the secured card within 2 business days. The minimum amount to secure the card was $300. and no I didn't pay my account balance off every month, however I always sent more than the minimum payment do and made my payments well ahead of schedule

Thank you RebuildMe, if it wasn't for your great story, I wouldn't have applied or registered to make this post!
