colagada's review: Callout Comment To give you an idea of how bad this company is, several states forbid this company to even offer the card to their residents.

The various fees (and they have several) are frequentl and outrageous.

The interest rate is the maximum allowed by law.

Customer Service is outsourced to India, and it's hard to understand anybody or get them to understand you.

If you do get this card, don't ever let the balance (including fees and interest) go over the limit or ever pay even one day late, because you will get hit with charges that you wouldn't believe. Understand that there is a minimum of four business days from the time they get payment until the time it clears their system, and if it isn't cleared in their system, you WILL get charged a late and/or over-limit fee.

Better yet, stay far away from them.

Remarks Just read all three of your posts; you got just about every horrible card that exists.

Have you tried Orchard Bank or Capital One yet? Maybe even the Hooters MasterCard. Let us know.

I've said it before and I will say it again, if you can, always go with a secured credit card from a reputable bank first. Citi offers a secured MasterCard for 18 months on an interest bearing CD $29 annual fee. Bank of America offers one for up to 12 months but your money is not deposited in an account. US Bank also offers a Secured Visa card for up to 12 months in an interest bearing savings account but it is only available to people residing in the west and KY/TN.

You have to come up with the cash to deposit but you get it back. Isnt that better then blowing it on fees just to have it right away?

Remarks People who pay their bills late deserve to have late fees. People who's late fees cause them to go overbalance, deserve to be charged overbalance fees.

Those with extremely low credit scores have earned high fees and low credit lines.

I can say this, because I've been there and have done that. Although there are other options that people should try to pursue before getting this card, all the fees are very clearly stated upfront. It's like buying an Escalade, then getting mad at the dealership because it gets poor gas miliage.

I've had this card for about a year, and I've never gotten a crazy late fee because I pay my bill on time every month. I've also never gotten an overlimit fee, as I keep my balance below 30%, and don't max the card out.

Remarks No matter what cc you app for ALWAYS read the fine print and know what you're getting yourself into.

As far as late and over the limit fees... If you don't max out the card and pay well in advance you should have no worries. Rebuilder cards are just that. If you screw up a rebuilder, you aren't ready for credit just yet.

This is not meant to be rude, so I hope it doesn't come accross as such. I have several of these cards and I take very good care of them for a reason... I don't want to stay with these cards, I want better cards.

Remarks Well said, MsKiwi... They are just that, rebuilder cards! Why complain, when we've heard this time and time again about these cards. Yes, these have hefty fees, some worse than others, but its the price to pay for bad credit.

They are put on this earth for a reason, most people who can't obtain cards any other way have no choice, if they have no money upfront for secured cards, and have to go with one of these.

But, believe me, if you get one, you MUST use it very responsibly, bite the bullet for at least a couple of years, depending on how bad your credit is, and try to pay down the card as fast as possible. If you are past due, and or overlimit on ANY card, then its due to your own circumstances and doing.

If you're trying to rebuild credit, its your responsibility to make extra efforts to keep it current and well underlimit.

We are here to support anyone who needs guidance, because most of us have been there, including myself, but with any bank... Expect those fees if it is your fault by not practicing improved credit behavior and just accept that.

There aren't any other credit card options if you can't

Remarks Had this card since 7/07. CL was $300 now $760. Never went over the limit, payments posted on time. Never late on a payment... Knew the fees before I've applied for the card. This card, along w/Salute, First Premier,... Gave the head start to get approved for, Orchard Bank, Hooters, Cap1 and Red Target card.

So I can't complain...

Remarks Actually compu credit is currently being sued for millions of dollars and they are shutting down all credit cards.

They have closed the Salute Card, and there are reports of Aspire being hit now. Its just a matter of time before their other cards are closed as well.
