I really didn't plan on applying for any more cards because I really have more than I need (and we all know we shouldn't apply for more credit than we need) BUT I just had to apply for Macy's. The store is so awesome; I couldn't help myself. I applied online and to my great surprise was approved for $500.00. I am so psyched! I just love that store. And with the information I have obtained from all you wonderful people, I know that my CL should be raised every 2-3 months which means I can shop online and in-store until I drop as long as I make my payments on time (I always do PIF!) and utilize my credit. Thank you so much again for the great advice.

Congrats on the approval. I was approved for Macy's over 6 months ago and only $100. They have been stingy with me, and only give me $100 every 3 months (only at $300 now). They can suit themself, because it really does restrict my spending their. Be glad you got the $500! :-)

This is a good card as long as you skip the Visa. I was approved right away for $2,000 9/07 and have been upgraded to the Gold Star Rewards version; never have been given a credit line increase though, maybe it is for the lower limits that get raised.

We have two new Macy's family members today. I a proud of both of you. I know you are going to enjoy the savings and the shopping experience with them.
Which reminds me, I need to go there today and use my two little cards they sent me in the mail...$10 of and single purchase of $30 or more and and extra 20% off.

Yeah, not only those 150th Birthday coupons but I just received a mailer for the Secret Sale starting 10/30-11/2 so check that out before you waste one of your coupons before Xmas.

You will really enjoy this card. They give nonstop (almost daily) opportunities for discounts. I agree with ColoNative regarding the Visa, refuse it no matter how tempting it may be. The terms are just ridiculous no matter how good your credit is (unless you are very disciplined and PIF each and every month). By the way, if you go to the store during the Christmas holidays (usually December) they generally grant limit increases easily at the register. Congrats again, hope you enjoy it!!!

Macy's is a great card. I have 2 Macy's card with a combined CL of over $8k. They give generous CLI and lots of coupons. Take care of this card.
