swipe46's review: Went out afer work with a few friends the other night. When I got home decided to go through my mail... Trash, trash, a bill trash(just joking), oh, pre-approval letter. I open "... You are pre-approved up to 7,500..." By the way, this is for WAMU. Though I told myself I would not apply for anything else those little credit card devils were on both my shoulder saying "do it, doit". As I stumbled to my computer and went to the invitation site and filled everything out, the love button looked like another Baracadi and Coke. I went to pick it up and before I knew it, I see that checker light going from left to right (processing). It came back approved for 5K. I turned off the computer and went to bed. When I woke, I don't know which was worse, the hang-over and that additional inquiry on my credit report. The moral... Never Drink and Apply.

Congrats? on 2008-10-24
How is this a bad thing? You got approved for a nice card with a very good limit.

Didn't Chase Buy Them Out? on 2008-10-24
Thought I heard that Chase bank bought them... Maybe you will be converted to a chase card at some point... Anyway... Good luck with it...

Chase on 2008-10-24
Chase has definately bought them. My WaMu ATM card is now good at any Chase location with no fee. It helps a lot in the NYC area. All cards will be converted sometime in late January or early February. I just hope they keep everyone at their limits and don't close any subprime accounts...

That is hilarious! Nice CL... Enjoy your card!
It will be converted over to Chase soon, which won't be a bad thing either

I agree with the first poster, I do not see how this is a bad thing. I have a Visa with Wamu and don't any complaints. Just always make sure you go online two days before you due date or else you will have to pay an additional amount are be late. I hope they do not convert my card, although I know they probably will. We do not have any Chase branches in Georgia so I guess having them would be a plus. Chase is ok if you're impeccable.

WAMU To JPMorganChase on 2008-10-25
According to the info Chase has supplied... They need 6 - 12 months to completely absorb WAMU. They hope to start replacing WAMU Cards as they come up for renewal and new cards when applied for. Note they said it would take some time. I am interested in their underwriting. There website for new card apps always asks and no Bk's on file at the credit bureau!!! So much for helping the sub-prime market!
