"Denied"
Capital One® Platinum Review

Account Management

timothy's review: Was denied today (online) with scores at 522. Called customer service and they said that they at least want you to have some "pays as agreed" on your credit report for about 1-2 years. I am starting over again (my wife forced me to) and I have no credit cards with "pays as agreed" histories.

Hi Timothy, just saw your post on Capital One, you are better off without them... Read my review from 4/29/2007 to see the horrible crap they did to me. I will never use them again, I can't trust them, and they just don't care. Forget about them, move on... I saw you applied for a credit one bank card, you'll get it... I have their Platinum Visa, its great. Great on line management, and frequent credit line increases w/o having to ask for them, and friendly customer service, smart choice!!!

Cap1 Sucks Anyway on 2008-03-24
Cap 1 denied me too with 634 EX,651 EQ,702 TU. I was so sure I would be approved after seeing people on this board with lower scores get approved. No BK... And one old collections account with less than a yr to be kicked off CR. Anyway
I used to work for Cap1, they deliberately charge multiple PD and OL fees in hopes the customers wont notice. I think this is why they are quick to hike your CL's. So you may add balances increasing the likelihood that their crimes will go unnoticed. Offcourse once you catch this they will fix it right away but they did it to so many customers it couldn't be an error. BEWARE!!!

I am so sorry that you feel this way. Did you pull a whistleblow on them when you were working for them? If I worked for a company that was so crooked and I knew about it, I think I would blow the whistle on them.
Well I have had the card for a couple of years and I have not encounter one problem from them, only cli's and lower apr rates. Let's not forget the no annual fee from them. I wish you better luck in the future and yes I do find it odd that you would be denied according to what you say is on your report. This is just another example of what I have been saying in here for a while, "Scores are not the only factor that creditors judge you by" there are many other reasons for denials."

They Denied Me Instantly on 2008-03-24
I too doubt that they denied me based on my score. The letter claims I have collections accounts as the reason for being denied but how did they know that within the 5 secs it took to deny me credit???
