I also had the person ask me about the protection they offer, and I just said, "no thanks for now". I got my card with no problem and have had no problem at all. The extra protection can be added to any card, it is very good if you get laid-off or something bad happens to you. It also covers you for $1000 in life Ins. The protection is only a few penny on every $100. If you have a high credit line then it is wise to take, but if you just have a little credit line, you can make up your own mine if you need it or not. So far this card has been one of the better ones, let hope it stays that way. Thank You
