Hi I didn't even apply for this card was sent an offer in the mail and was approved for CL of $500. Never had a JC Penny card before. Last time I even applied for one was in the mid 80s and was denied. Have changed careers from a layoff and now trying to rebuild credit. Not a bad card and can use it at CVS drug store.

Way to go on your approval, you just ran across another good card. You are going to get nice coupons, cli's, and upgrades on this card if you use it pretty often. I hear good stories about this card and I have experiences myself which is all good about this card.

You can use it at Rite Aid, not CVS. And you can use it at Sephora.

My sister got denied for this card but I think it was because they could not verify her identity because she has moved a lot in the last 2 yrs. Anyone know the backdoor # so she can question why she got declined?

Bad Credit Times Ahead on 2008-10-14
Today received what I thought was a statement, Please find enclosed important information regarding a CHANGE in the terms of your JCPenny account ending in ####. The standard rate on the account will be increased to 22.85%. What?!! Only have had card two months and card is paid off. Bought about $300 worth of clothes with it. Just waiting for the next notice. Sock drawer.
