mrs628's review: Had this card since March 08. Started out with $70.00 overall credit line. I didn't really care because I was rebuilding my credit. My g/f told me to throw it out because it's a waste of time, but I'm up to $310.00 now because they give you an increase every month for the first year if you let them deduct the minimum payment from your checking acct. I had no idea until I kept noticing my limit increasing first by $30 dollars then by $50 dollars then by $75. I called CS and they explained that I get increases every month for the first year, no credit limit caps, I could use this card at the pump, and I pay no over the phone fees to make a payment. The downfall is I pay $19/month for maintenance fees totaling $228.00/year and $15.00/annual fee. I am closing out my other two credit cards, Rewards 660 and Continental Finance after they are paid in full and just work with this one, I like them the best so far. I would definitely recommend this card for those re-establishing their blemished credit, though I believe you would have to apply for a Tribute card now, the Imagine card is no longer being issued.

You might be able to graduate to Cap1 and Orchard/HSBC/Household Bank cards... You can apply for pre-approvals online before they hit your credit... Good luck.

Why don't you give Cap1, Orchardbank or Hooters a try. I think you will be satisfied as their fees are much less than this card

Hooters? on 2008-08-27
I've read a lot of comments about the Tribute card. I try to focus on the positives but I read some of the negatives to avoid mistakes. Is this card really that bad? I saw someone recommend a Hooters card, are you recommending an actual Hooters, the wing place credit card? I never heard of them having a credit card before. Are they good? Please advise me, thanks

Thanks on 2008-09-14
Applied for Hooters and was denied... Maybe I should wait a little longer before applying for better cards. Currently I am satisfied with my Imagine and Rewards 660 Cards. Thanks for the info anyhow :-)

Re-Opened! on 2009-01-19
To those of you who already know my story, bare with me while I bring others up to speed. During the holiday's, I pretty much maxed my card out leaving only 20 bucks on it so the 19 dollar monthly fee would clear. Then I paid the bill in full online, but it credited too late and Imagine closed my acct for being over my limit. Well to make a long story short Imagine gave me a call saying I still owed them 16 dollars after they closed my acct. I was completely disgusted with them after having a perfect payment history of no lates payments and always paying in full. After I paid them their 16 dollars I basically took all my frustrations out on the rep for calling me over 16 bucks in the first place and began firing questions at her as to why my acct was closed with my perfect payment history. I told her that this acct was one of my oldest accts and my credit scores took a hit because it said "closed by credit grantor" She agreed with me and placed me on hold. She came back and advised they have been closing accts for people who've been over their limits or submit late payments but it was only supposed to happened to the repeat offenders. She also advised that not only will they re-open my acct but they also gave me a 150 credit limit increase bringing me to $660.00. I know most people hate this card, and are probably wondering why I fought so hard to try to keep it and have it re-opened. Well its because of the history. They started me with 70.00 bucks and now I'm up to 660 and correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this look nice on your credit report? Plus they have helped me for example BOA extended credit to me and pre approved me for a home loan, so I think they helped. Anyway they also added that I can still receive the monthly increases of 50 bucks until March. So I will keep this card, use it less until my BOA card reaches at least 2 years in age. Then send them a thank you letter of some sort. Thanks for reading my story. :-)
