rickella's review: Ten days ago, I applied for the Delta Skymiles by AmEx totally thinking I would not get approved. They approved me for 1K! Today, I read on Finance Globe that applying for the AmEx Blue before activating my Delta Skymiles would improve the chances of getting approved. Again, being totally skeptical, I gave it a shot. Approved for Blue too for 1K! I am shocked, but glad. I will let everyone know when each card is received and how customer service, etc. Goes. Also, I will keep you up to speed on CLIs and such. I'm an American Express card holder for the first time. I hope I won't regret it. Thank you for all the great advice!

American Express is a great bank not for everybody I agree but I have been with them for years and no problem.
One thing pay on time pay more than minimum and you will be ok
and also to use it even for gum so that your credit is active.
Good Luck,
Alex

I have a pre-approved application on my desk right now for Blue. 0% intro APR on purchases for 15 months and 10.99% thereafter. I am just scared because of what everyone has been saying about AMEX with their Financial Reviews and such. I was previously an AMEX Gold card holder from 4/99-3/05 but closed it due to the high annual fee. Never had a problem with AMEX in that time but it was not a revolving card but an open (pay in full) card. Very sad to see that the In:LA, In:NYC and In:Chicago cards are no longer offered. So I am very interested to hear how things go with your new cards, keep us posted please!

On your new card. Be very careful with Amex. They are very fussy and will cut your limit. Keep your balance on this card and all of your other cards very low, pay off Amex every month and hopefully they will not decrease your limit. They don't like to see balances on other cards (esp. High ones) on your Amex.
