suthernone's review: I have never been given the run around by any company like Tribute. No matter what question I asked... They gave me the same answer. I kept asking them... Where is the $30 activation fee that I sent and why is the card not activated and they kept telling me over and over that it takes 4 business days AFTER they receive my payment to activate the card BUT my question was... Where is my payment? It has been approximately 3 weeks and still nothing and now they say that when they do receive my payment... It will be another 4 business days! Why would this take so long? I sent my payment WITH the payment coupon to the P. O. Box in New Jersey and from there I do not know happened. I sent a money order which is another horror to trace. I feel like this thing will never be resolved because talking to the reps...(I seem to get the same one all the time) is useless. Has anybody just not been able to get their card activated after sending in the fee to the P. O. Box?

Money Order Trace on 2008-08-22
If it has been three weeks then the payment has most likely been lost. I believe the only thing you can do at this point is have the money order traced (yes, it is a pain).
More importantly, make sure that this does not result in a late payment. You never know...

My activation fee was received immediately. They did, however, made me wait 2 or 3 weeks before the card actually activated.
I think they do this to make sure your check doesn't bounce.
I know you sent a money order, but maybe someone made a mistake in processing.

I've sent a money order and when I call the 800 # to make sure they were in receipt of the payment they said "yes" and to wait 10 days before using the card. So it took me about 17 days from receipt to activiate my card. Since then... I always mail all CC payment two weeks in advance... This help me. Sent my tribute payment out on 8/15 was due on 9/2... They got my payment posted online on 8/20.

Gonna Give It More Time on 2008-08-22
This is the initial activation fee! I have been told 2 different dates as when the card will be ready for use. It is hard to understand the person you talk with as their English is that good so that gets frustrating. No matter what I asked or said the response was always the same. I will only trace this money order when and if they try and hit me with a late fee and then I will see exactly when the money order was cashed! It costs $10.00 to track the money order so I won't do that yet and plus they told that no fees are accumulating because I have not used the card. Tanks for all your comments. I never experienced anything like before. I do not like my money floating around out there regardless what the reason is.

I Don't Know.... on 2008-08-22
It may be in your best interest to send them another check in the mean time if they are saying they didn't receive it.
Didn't they tell you that they actually do have it? Check your account online to see if there is anything credited.
God forbid it did somehow get lost in the mail... I would hate to see you get a late fee... I mean the worst case scenereo would be that you made an extra payment, right?

I say forget this card and spend your money on a decent secured card if you can't get a Cap 1 or Orchard card. If you are going to be giving all this money to Tribute, you would be better off taking $300 and getting a secured Bank of America card. After around a year they unsecure it and send your money back. Good luck.

Forget This One on 2008-08-25
I say forget this card. I was approved for this one but after reading some of the stories on this board, once I received the card I immediately canceled it. It took a few days for the $20.00 to be refunded
