crazysue's review: I have another cap one card but I wanted the No Hassle Points Rewards (gotta love cards with perks) Anyways on line approval for 500 already have a cap one card with a 800 cl and does carry a balance however it was stuck at 500 for months and months called the number on the back of the card and they said "no" to a cli 2 weeks later called the back door number and they bumped it up to 800...
my scores range from 635-655
Keep ya posted on the rewards and how fast it comes

Congrats! on 2008-08-18
Congrats on the new approval. Keep making your payments on-time and manage your credit cards wisely and you will find yourself opening pre-approval letters within 6 months or so.

Amen to that, gotta love the backdoor number to Cap One!!
I somehow think its a retention dept though, because the last time I called, they memo'd my increase as if I was going to close my account.
Most of the bigger banks, I know that Citi has a Retention Unit, as a last resort will try to fulfill requests to keep you as a member.
Heck, I'm not complaining, but does anyone know if it is a retention unit, or just an account managers dept??

Capital One No Hassle Points Reward on 2008-09-21
Help! On May 2006 I opened an online Capital One Platinum Mastercard. They started me with an initial line of credit of $500. After 90 days with paying my bills on time they automatically increased the credit line to $750. Since that time I have requested credit limit increases and they tell me I have a bankruptcy on my record. No kidding, BK 09/2001. Since then I cleaned my record eliminated everything and follow the rules. What can I do???
I have Capital One Platinum Visa Business Miles One Cards and have great credit lines. Where is the logic?
Any suggestions from the credit guru's? Oh, my FICO Scores are TU 707 EX 707 EQ 697.

First Time on 2008-09-21
This is the first time I have heard this. Capital One doesn't blacklist because they are known to extend credit to just about everybody with a valid social security number. If they didn't like the fact that you filed BK in 2001, they would've never approved you for a new account. They never base a CLI on your report, they base it on your account history with them. My suggestion is that you wait until it has been 6 months since your last increase and call them again and ask them if your account is eligible for an increase rather than demanding for one. That is how Capital One likes to work. They approve you for a new account, give you an increase after 90 days of opening your account as long as you meet the credit steps program requirements and give you CLI's every 6 months after that.
