ashes's review: Callout Comment I have had this card for 2 years. Started off with $2500 and last year I hit the CLI button on my online account and got $1000 and then 6 months later I did this again. The online CLI didn't pull my reports but the max you can get is 1k. Last week, I called in to ask for an account review of my credit for a CLI and they got me to $7000. I like their rewards program. It is simple and easy to use. You get 1% cash back on everything with no points minimum and no expiring points. I use this card for everything. So far HSBC has been good. The only gripe is when you pay online, sometimes they hold your payment for 10 days i. E. The money is credited but the credit limit is not released by the amount you pay. I recommend this card for everyone. It is one of the better cards out there.

Remarks On specific card brands with them, yes they do go that high, but only a few they offer, and credit scores must be very good also. Otherwise, they are stingy with cli's.

I have the Premium 2% cashback card, my limit started at 2600, now up to 3400. Only asked for one increase so far though... No report pull either, it was sitting there for me. I use this and Cap One No Hassle Cash Rewards for everything, because of the cashback, and rotate my other cards.

Remarks Congrats on your cli's. I agree with hjm, this is a shocker to know that HSBC (one of the stingiest banks around) give nice cli's. I will refer members to your posting when they ask!

Remarks I guess it depends on the usage. I have been using this card at about $1000-$1500 a month (paid in full each month) and essentially coxed them into giving me a CLI to $7000 based on my usage and saying I will be traveling a lot. You can use their online credit increase feature every 6 months to get 1k CLIs. That is the max they give at any time. I did it twice and then I called and had them give me a higher limit. I asked for $8k, they gave me $7k. The rewards can be cash back or fly and it is standard 1%. I like the simplicity of the rewards program.

Got A CLI User Icon on 2009-12-19

Remarks Used the luv button yesterday and they bumped my credit limit from $7000 to $9000. I have not used this card that much. Just felt like seeing what the luv button would do. Apparently HSBC is still giving CLIs to me. I did ask for $3k CLI and they gave me $2k CLI. Oh well. Such is life sometimes!
