louise's review: Callout Comment I have had this card since Jan 08 with an initial CL of 1.3k (I pay off the balance each month). I went to access my account to set up a payment and to my utter shock they gave me an additional 1.5k. Now my total CL is 2.8k. I really did not expect to receive anything from them this quickly. I thought I had to wait at least a year.

Remarks I too have a WaMu Platinum Mastercard. Ive had it since December of 2007, used it a couple of times and was never late on payments. The initial CL was $750 and last month the gave me a $1,500 CLI. I was shocked and happy. I bank with them also so making the payments has been hassle-free. From what Im gathering, if you pay on time, and have not had your scores drop significantly, they will grant you an increase in 6 mos.

Still Stuck At $500 User Icon on 2008-07-11

Remarks I got this card Nov. 07 with $500 cl. Made all payments on-time but still stuck at $500. Love the FICO score tho.

Remarks I have heard most WaMu account holders receiving CLI's after a year of having the card. Just keep making your payments on-time and you will be rewarded soon.

Good Luck

Remarks Have you pulled your FICO scores lately? If you have done so and your scores are in the 600's, you should have a great chance of getting approved for this card because this card is for those who have scores over 600.

Remarks Has your mother had a 30 day or more late payment show up on her credit report? Does she have any 30 day or more late payments with this card? It seems like she has defaulted on one of her cards.

Default... User Icon on 2008-07-15

Remarks I am not sure... But I will find out... So if she defaulted that would be the reason that she has such a high APR? or at least could be? Any other reasons? Thank you.

Remarks The only reason I have seen someone have an APR that high is because they defaulted with a creditor.

Having an APR like that with a solid payment history should be illegal.

Ding, WAMU Rate Jacked Me ! User Icon on 2008-07-19

Remarks To those that have this card, be careful. I have had this card from May of last year with a limit over $4k. However, due to a cash advance for a friend and a few balance transfers, my utilization on t his card was very high.

I was informed yesterday that inspite of my on-time payments and payments over the minimum, my rate would increase in Sept from 12.99 to 23.99%.

I called to complain and ask for mercy but to no avail.

They will ratejack you in a heartbeat especially in this economic downturn going on now.

Has your mom nearly maxed out her card? If so and if she has never been late, this could be the reason. They are putting people in certain risk bands and if your are assessed as being more likely to default, t hey will rate jack you.

It seems counterintuitive as one would think that increasing payments from this type of customer would encourage the type of behavior that you are lookin gto stop.

Remarks I think the reason for the rate jack is your cash advances. Cash advances receive a higher interest rate than your purchases where 23.99 percent sounds just about right for a cash advance.
