sethatco's review: I want to start off by saying every negative thing I have heard about this credit card is absolutely true. CHEAP NASTY PEOPLE.
I had the USAir MC and Iceland Aid MC. Both open a year and month ago. Orig limits of 1,500. The credit line was never increased in that time. I followed the rules, bill paid in full, no more than 30% of use.
I took the time to call customer service after the 1 year and ask for a auto CLI which was declined, however they suggested I write a letter and fax it to the credit portfolio department, which I did and included a current copy of my pay stub to verify income.
The response from this bunch of second raters was simple screw you. They did a hard pull on my EX & TU for review and not only did they not grant an increase they suspended my limits aka closed my accounts out. I called CS ready to rip someone a new one and of course they said the CPD only works bankers ours which is the lip service they give after hours and then if you call during normal business hours, the answer changes to they dont take call from customers.
In a time when the economy has gone to hell and you have a customer who has no lates or negative items on their report and with credit scores EX 780 and TU 765, Id love to know where these bunch of clowns get off closing the accounts.
My response was simple I said fine up yours called BOA who I have several cards with and instant approval for USAIR Visa signature card 20,000 at 9.9 and applied to the bank of Reykjavik for a ICELAND AIR Visa. Approved 75,000 kroner.
Moral of the story do not put up with subpar crap from your credit card company, if you have the means to get rid of them and tell them to twist in the wind if they wont give you what you want or deserve.

Wow! on 2008-07-04
Wow! That is cold and unacceptable what they did. Were you actually able to speak to someone to find out why the need to pull 2 hards and why they would close out your account with such an impeccable history?
I would follow up with a letter to someone with a position in the company i. E president. I wouldn't let that go.
Congrats on the new cards with higher limits.

The Bank Should Close NEXT on 2008-07-04
Seems to me, the next one to be closed..
is the bank itself
very poor service.

I would write a letter to the manager/vice president of that company... With the CS rep name of which you talked to to make a complaint. Ok don't give me a CLI, but to close the account? Why? Because you were a concern consumer? Well it's evident that this was their lost... Good for you.

Now That Is A Hot Mess! on 2008-07-06
That is awful where do you get off closing out someone's account because they asked you a question about a CLI. I agree with another poster maybe the bank is getting ready to closed down. A big congratulations on your 2 new cars with the fabulous CL! Woo Hoo!

Yes, I agree with all of you. What do you expect from a cheap second rate british bank which gave credit cards and mortgages to anyone with a pulse and a FICO score of 500. I hope they either go under or some buys them and gets ride of all the second rate morons they have in the credit department. The offical reason for the accounts being closed was I had more then enough credit with other lendors, so take your business too them.

OMG talking about making someone mouth drop, I still cant pick mines up from the floor yet. How dare they treat you like that? I know you were highly heated over that issue. I mean, what type of business are they looking for? You deserve the best and that is what just happened when you got your new approval elsewhere.

Looking For A Review Of This Card on 2009-06-09
I am considering applying for this card... It says at least a 631 score but I am kind of close... It said it allowed limited discrepencies so I figued that might be to my advantage with a bk7 2 years old..
has anyone with bk7 or small discrepencies or baddies etc ever been approved fro this card?
if so what were your scores when you did?
thanks

A 2 year old bky is still a little recent. If you are in the low 600's you could still have a chance as this is a Barclays card. If you do not have an average of at least a 620 I don't know if you should chance it. You might need to look at your scores and inquiries to decide if you want to chance it.

I kind of thought it might get moved but I thought this might get me more advise than here.
I haven't had an inquiry since Aug 2008... There were like 3 form June of last year until that time in Aug.
My score is a little under 620 with transunion and I did find out that is who they will pull.
thanks for the advise though.
