danny's review: I'm a fan of upscale department stores so I gave Dillards a try first. They were nice enough to approve me online several months ago for $150. Paid on time a few and got a limit increase to $250. A $100? I mean come on. This is a semi-upscale department store. What could I buy? A pair of jocks! I was done. I now have Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. Exclusive stores with decent limits.

I'd pick the Macy's card over this one. Macy's is one of the upscale retail stores in the U. S. And they are a lot more generous than Dilliard's. It has to do with the banks that are offering these cards.
Macy's Card-Issused by Citi (very generous with increases)
Dilliard's Card-Issued by GEMB (very stingy with increases)
Believe it or not but the same company that gave you that nice increase on your JcPenney's card is the same company that is giving you small increases on your Walmart and Dilliard's. It's really a mystery how these banks work.

Go For Macys!!! on 2008-06-11
I say head to Macys too. I used to work there and I have there card. I've had Macys since I was 18, my credit line is $13,600 from getting regular increases. They are very generous and have NICE clothes and NICE everything. If you stick with Dillards, upgrade to the American Express Dillards card. Good luck!! rockin35

Agree with Rockin35, Dillards and JCP are GEMB, kinda lousy... You would probably wait years to reach a decent line with them, esp Dillards... But Citi handles Macy's... Hence, Citi is always generous with credit lines... In my opinion, Citi is the best bank on the planet!!!

I agree w/ HJM and Rockin... Macy's will hook you up with CLI's... I opened my Macy's acct in May 07 w/ a $300 CL... I got an auto increase of $300 in Oct... Then I called in April and was increased to $1200! A $900 increase in less then a year... Apply to Macy's... Great deals and a great card.
