I have applied 3 times for this card within the past 8 months. I got declined each time. I applied again over a week ago and got the common 7-10 Review. I called today and advised I was approved with a credit limit of $1100. I will advise on APR and AF when I receive it.

Congrats on the approval! Just make sure to make your payments on-time and don't go over your limit and you will be receiving offers from the big banks in no time.

Follow Up on 2008-06-16
I received the card today. Took about two weeks to get. My credit score is about 600. I also have a Merrick Bank Visa with a $1000 limit. Been a customer for about 2 yrs with on time payments. I usually keep that card max'd though. Surprised they were generous with another account.
CL: $1100
APR: 18.2%
AF: None
Thanks to this site big time!!! I would of never known Hooters even offered a card. Looking forward to this and the mag.

CAUTION on 2008-06-16
I was reading through the card member agreement and Section 2 states they reserve the right to close the account if you do not make a purchase or take a cash advance within the first 90 days upon receipt of the card. I read through some of these reviews and noticed some of you are just sock drawing the card due to high apr's, etc. I suggest buying something small and paying it off then socking it.

That's a nice CL and APR for beginners. Just keep making your payments on-time keep your utilization low and you will see your scores increase in the meantime.

Good looking out on that one. I have heard Starbucks is a good first purchase on any credit card. It's supposed to bring you luck with CLI's and low interest rates. I don't know if it actually works but it's worth a try since you already have to make a purchase within 90 days of activating your card. I believe all cards are like this, not just Hooters.

THEY THREW ME OUT OF THE FAMILY... on 2008-12-07
A slap in the face when I opened my mail today. A letter from Merrick Bank that they pulled my Trans Union Credit Report and told me that since I opened too many recent accounts they are closing my account. And guess what I asked them about my Merrick Bank Visa, and they closed that too!!! Ok maybe I went a little too crazy max'ing out both cards which probably prompted the credit pull. Both cards closed effective 12/01/08. Jerks. =(
