Just Curious... on 2008-05-17
What were your scores when you got the approval and what did you purchase with it? I've had my eye on this one since they started offering it.

Getting rid of the card a week or two after you get it is just plain dumb. Amex does keep very detailed data bases and will know if you try and play this game. They will hold it against you should you try and get another card from them. If you had no intention of paying the annual fee why did you even waste the inquiry and apply in the first place. Amex is very good and treat customers as they should be, but consumers who play games with them is just a waste of time.

$185 Fee Billed AFTER The 1st Year. on 2008-05-17
If you go to the Card Information Page for this plum card, you have to scroll further down, mid way the page, its listed under "Card Details/Offer Details" where it lists the $185 fee AFTER the first year.
I would keep the card though, at least wait until the year is up before canceling it, or better yet, ask them to waive it your second year of having the card. You wont pay the fee the first year anyway.

Rockin35 is right, if you use the card heavily, there is a pretty good chance that they will waive the $185 fee because they would rather keep you as a customer since you are giving them a lot of business by using your card heavily rather than losing you for $185.

I Got Mine Last Month on 2009-04-03
I applied about a month ago and they approved the card after 10 days. I like the look of the card and I love the cash back.
