debtor00's review: Callout Comment I Thank you AMEX for working with boneheads like me.

Earlier today I opened up a new bank account. A few moments ago, I went online to pay my Amex bill with my old banking info and while I was there I set up my new banking info as an alternative account.

Well, because I'm an idiot I accidently paid with the new account.

The new account has a hold on funds so I'm cussing out loud now. Amex does not have a cancel payment button!!! I know I goofed but all other banks have a cancel payment button!! Come on Amex!

So I called a very understanding customer service rep that said he would note to cancel any fees I get charged so long as I make another payment.

Now let's hope the bank is as understanding!

I can't believe I did that, but come on AMEX travelocity, Bank of America, and capital one all have options to cancel payments if you catch mistakes or want to change payment amounts.

I still luv you guys for your great cs reps though!

Remarks Well I dont want to sound "un optimistic" not about American Express, but about the CSRs when it comes to Customer Service Reps these days, they get so much new information and procedures thrown at them, sometimes they forget what the policy is. The charges may be automatic. I would definitely follow up on the potential fees that could be charged. Notating a customers account is simple, but reps are human & sometimes forget to note it or better yet reference the actual incident (This is coming from a past Customer Service MGR) in a call center environment. I would call again tomorrow to make sure your account is noted with this incident just to make sure you dont get any fees. But you should be okay... Rockin35!
