realtorbel's review: I can't get this card for the life of me :(! I called today for a reconsideration because I received the denial letter and it states that I was declined due to a new mortgage. I thought for sure that this was a mistake but to my surprise and the person I spoke to in credit services, it was true! I was declined due to a new mortgage showing up on my CR. This mortgage is for an investment property that I brought in 11/07, I was told that Hooters will automatically decline you if you have a new mortgage after 2004. I guess its due to the numerous foreclosures nationwide. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I still find it hard to believe!!

Sorry...
The word on the street is that Hooters changed underwriters. This is there new thing. I wonder will the new mortgage holders like myself be refused credit limit increases for the same reason. Thats why I don't use the card anymore. Its retired in the sock drawer...

Try This on 2008-04-28
Have you applied for a Capital One card yet? I think you should go try it and let us know what happens. Capital One rarely denies anyone here. It's a really good card to have to rebuild your credit with. Good luck!

You are correct, I heard this from RoBoCoP. I thought it was so weird to hear this story, but you are the second person that mentioned this. I guess we better warn everyone in the Network so that they can save on the inq. So sorry for your denial. There are better cards out there anyway so don't let this discourage you. Just like Asha nd HJm331 told you, try CAP 1, I bet you will get a better deal there.

I applied for the HOOTERS card 10/2007 with CL of $1,000 to start off with. Thanks to Meya's raving on the card! :-)
I have a residential mortgage from 06/2006 and another mortgage for an investment property as of 9/2007. I never heard of them doing this. Weird.

I Feel So Left Out :(! on 2008-04-28
Thanks Meya and Adicus :( but I feel sooooooo left out! It seems like I'm the only 1 who cant get a Hooters card! Maybe it has something to do with all of the other cards that I've gotten in the past 13 months :{! It would take me forever to list them - did I tell yall I was a credit app addict?!

Did you say you have cards that you've gotten approved within the last 13 months?
If you list the cards that you have, maybe we can help you out more. Try to list the age of each credit card so we can find out how they impact your score. Thanks.
