Generally Not!! User Icon on 2008-04-21

Remarks I have the Walmart card, and was preapproved for over a year ago. My credit line at that time was $850. Every since I joined this network over a month ago, I have been educated on Wal-mart crediting practices. Most limits begin anywhere from $250-400 dollars. Anything over 650 is considered a high credit limit. Normally if you request a credit line increase, the most I've heard and that I have received personally has been $100. Walmart generally does not give high credit lines in terms of $2000, $4000, $6000, or $8000 etc, nothing like that I don't think. Rockin35!

$100 Is Good User Icon on 2008-04-21

Remarks Ya know when I got my card and read the CL on the card of 850, I thought it was low. But then again, who on this planet spends over $100 in Walmart in a weeks time? So really, all you need is a 100 or 200 dollar limit. It takes about 4 months to get your increase like Meya said. It's a good card. I was flat broke in October of last year, paid all of my bills the first week, and went to Walmart and used the cash back feature and it came in handy. I don't practice taking cash at 18.7% apr but, at the time I needed it. So it's a good card. Congratulations!! Rockin35

Remarks I have 2 negative marks on my credit report and was having a very difficult time taking out lines of credit with other companies. I am trying to improve my credit and thought I'd try to get a Wal-Mart card since I shop there every week. I filled out the application expecting to be declined but was pleasantly surprised by approval and a $500 credit limit. The credit limit somewhat shocked me - I was only expecting, at the most, $100 dollars.
