rockin35's review: Hello,
I called Target Visa a few days ago and went through their automated system. My account balance is $0 and I have had this card for about 4 years now, never late, always on time. I got routed through the prompts and pressed option 2 for a Credit Line increase and within 3 seconds, it told me I was approved for a 1000 dollar increase and that my new line was $6000. I pressed 0 to go to a CSR and they confirmed this. I told the csr that surely Target Bank didnt pull a credit report that fast on me, he advised that Target Bank has their own internal scoring process, not to mention the bureaus report to them each month and vice versa, based on my internal point scale, they approved it immediately without a hard inquiry to the bureaus. I asked if they could lower my interest rate (pushin' it) and he told me to call back in May, which is when they review accounts for lowered rates!! I said awesome!! I was surprised that Target Visa was so generous. Rockin35!!

Upgrading To Visa on 2008-04-19
Hey Hjm331
It took 7 months for me to upgrade from the regular store card to the Visa Card. The trick is going into the retail store customer service department to do it. Do not go online and apply separately. Ususally instore approvals are instant and the internal scoring system appears to be more "friendlier" thus leanining more emphasis on your internal store card. Yes they do look at the overral credit ratings but like I said, its faster.
Good Luck!! Rockin35!

Demographic Peeking on 2008-04-19
I am starting to feel like target keep us in the whole according to demographic areas.
Way to go Rockin, they Visa is much better than the store card becaue they don't give us (before I canceled) an option to ask for a cli.

I also used to work part time at Target, they are just like Macys and Walmart, during the seasonal times is when you want to apply. Say maybe around the bottom of November and mid December. More people were approved during that time for the instant instore Visa card than ever a few years back. I'm in Memphis TN, (2nd for Mid Size Cities in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy) yet the Wolfchase Target Location beat out PA/NY/ other major states for the most applications approved. Go for the Visa card, the store card is good to, but the Visa card is even better. I urge and encourge anyone to wait until November of this year to try for the Target Visa card. And I know we are in Re-hab for 6 months, so give yourself a reward and try it in November. Rockin35!

Never With Them on 2008-04-20
I just closed the account a few months ago. I refuse to open up another with them. My justice was served when I got an approval after so many denials.:)

I guess I will be nice! :).
... I can't help it, those no good, did me wrong, low cl offering (besides dillards) high price, 25 check out lanes with no more than 5 open at a time, never give good cli's, thin red plastic, high apr having, can't compare and scared of walmart, no good low-down and dirty store. OOOPs
Whew, I forgot, I said I will be nice, sorry YoYo, you made me have a flash back... Lol.
