After finding success with Cap 1 earlier today, I decided to call up Orchard Bank for a CLI and see what happens (after all, the worst thing they can do is say NO!). Called their backdoor number and...$200 increase! I've had this card since Jan 08 and have heard that customer initiated CLI requests are almost always denied so I wasn't expecting anything, glad I tried anyway.

What was your original limit on the card since this was your first increase? Normally, they only give increases in increments of $100... Maybe after all the complaints about their stringent lines, they are showing a little more love??

My original cl was $300. My sister has the same card and she told me that OB only gave her a cli of $75 so she was suprised that they gave me that much also. Maybe they heard how Cap1 is increasing limits and are attempting to compete, who knows?

If you thought that the $75 CLI was funny, Orchard likes charging $15 for a $100. That's pretty pathetic if you ask me especially if you don't need the card. They are taking advantage of the fact that people who need to build their credit will indeed pay that $15. It's sad really.
