Pleasantly suprised with approval of $500 considering past credit problems (paid all but two accounts off and making payments on those). No crazy fees and $49 annual fee not too bad. Just happy someone is giving me a second chance!

This is a great card not to only build your credit but just to use alone.
You should be receiving a letter in the mail about how they will give you a credit line increase (CLI) if you make your payments on time within 90 days and as long as you don't go over your limit. They are pretty good with increases. Good luck!

Way To Go on 2008-04-13
This is a good bank, all you have to do is stay on top of your financial responsibilities and they will not let you down. I like this bank because they are willing to take a chance on you and they do not do hard practice with universal default rates. They understand that unforsceen incidents does occur and they are there to pick you up when you fall. Just don't fall twice in one year or they will leave you down there with fees all in your face... Lol. To be honest and all jokes to the side, you are luck to be among this company, welcome to the Cap1 family, glad to have you here.

I have to say you picked a winner with this card. They have been really good to me. I started with a $300 limit and after three months of payments I got and increase to $500. I called a month later and asked for an increase they bumped me up to $1000. Congrats. Take care of this card and they will take care of you.

O. K., so I finally got up the nerve to call the Capital One backdoor number to ask for a CLI today. I didn't think that I'd get an increase since I've only had the card since March of this year, but to my joy, $300 CLI approved! Capital One rules to me!

Just wondering... How long have you had the card, and how long since your last CLI?
I only ask because I've had this card since November, got my credit steps CLI in March, and have been itching to call the backdoor number. Right now my CL is only $500.
Also, if anyone has gotten a CLI AFTER credit steps and without calling, can you please tell me how long it took?

Credit Steps on 2008-06-02
I got the original cli from 300.00 to 500.00 and have been stuck there since. I am beginning to think I am not eligible for an increase with the card I have. I have called backdoor numbers at least 3 times and NADA!!!

I got my Cap One Stardard Platinum Visa 06/2007 w/ CL $500 and got the credit steps increase 10/2007 to $750. I never saw an auto increase from then... Then I found this site and saw the "backdoor number" and I called in 03/2008 and got a CLI to $1250. I would of never done it if it wasn't for FG and I don't think they would of given it to me automatically. SO who knows! Give them a call! I called about a 2 weeks ago to see if I could get another CLI but they said no and to wait till next quarter O_O

I've had my card for about 3 months now and my initial CL was $500. Also, the CSR said that I am still scheduled to receive a Credit Steps increase ($250) by my 5th statement, can't wait.

I have not heard of the cli before the steps. For those who have not received a cli in nearly a year, I find that very odd that they are telling you NO. That is so not cool. Have you paid on-time montly jpayments and not just minimum balances? Are you at good standing with your other creditors? Never over the limit with anyone? I am not making any accusations towards anyone because we all make mistakes or run inot hard times, but I just can't figure out why Cap1 is doing you like this. Shorty3, they should have been blessed you with a limit. Are you sure you called the backdoor number? I think I would call again with a threat to cancel. Maybe that would show you some love.
