I applied for this card in Dec 07 and was declined, so I applied 2 weeks ago online and got this message:
We Need More Time
Thank you for applying for the Philadelphia Eagles Extra Points MasterCard® credit card from Bank of America.
Although we can normally provide credit decisions right away, we'll need a little more time to verify some of the information you provided us.
Within a few days, we'll send you an email informing you that a decision has been made on your application. You can sign in to retrieve this decision at the following address, using information you provided on your application:
https://www.Bankofamerica.com/creditcards/decision
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, and will be sure to contact you soon
I tried calling them and said that it is still under review 2 weeks later, has anyone had this message before and does it mean I was denied.

If your FICO score is higher than 743 to say excellent credit then maybe your were approve but if your credit is fair you might have been decline just wait they will send you a letter.

BOA cards are done thru FIA card service they have closed down on credit and credit lines. You may be asked to send in a pay stub to check income or other information. They leave you all the rope in the world to hang your self. Call and ask to speak to a credit advisor they can tell you what they need. Good luck

Usually when they give you that message it doesn't mean your denied or approved. We actually have a credit department that looks into your reports and makes a fair decision based on that... Alot of times they may need to contact you and ask about a possible negative in your credit or something. Then they will approve or decline a card... Pretty much what Sethco said- your on the ropes... Call customer service and they will be able to pull the app via a SS# and zipcode. Hope this helps.

You received this message because the computer couldn't make a decision for you. I feel that this is better because instead of the computer instantly denying you, you get a better chance with the people who are looking at your report. They might give you a small CL but you ask for increases along the way as you build your reputation with them.
I wouldn't take it as a denial, but in case they do deny you, I'd call in and ask for reconsideration.
