I applied for this card in Oct, my FICO was 725, I wasn't approved and moved on. About 3 weeks ago I started receiving collection letters in the mail from a bottom-feeder collection agency Asset Acceptance saying I owed like 1,000 on a Gordons Jewelry Store acct. I thought, and thought and then I remembered that back in 1988-1989 after becoming unemployed I defaulted on a Gordons acct for like 300.00. THAT WAS 18 YEARS AGO!!! Seems that Citi is handling the accts now for Gordons Jewelers and when I applied for the AAdvantage card they added 2 and 2 together. This has long since fell off my bureau and Im not contacting Asset Accpt but it goes to show you how bad credit can haunt you and these people seem to never give up hunting you down. Hope this is "word to the wise".
