Thanks for the number to call for clis at capital one. They denied me a credit limit last month for a card I have had with them a year and told me that they could not do increase request by phone on that card.
Now I called the number you posted expecting a 500 increase at best and got a whopping 4000 increase!!! Dude. She said it could take up to three days for it to kick in so I'm not going to celebrate until I actually see it, but it's hard not to get a little giddy. It may have helped that I haven't used that card in 6 months and kept the balance at zero. They asked me if raising the limit would make me take it out of my sock drawer, I said of course it would and zap 4500!!!

Congratulations, that's awesome!! I didn't get a cli when I last requested because I had just had one, but the backdoor rep did tell me the date that I should be eligible for an increase. XD

Wild range had asked for a back door number on a earlier post and this is what I posted.
The word on the street was Cap One had a big promo earlier this week. On the boards they were saying Call 1-877-513-9959 and tell them "I want to make Capital One the number one card in my wallet." They will give you a CLI if there is one available. That's hot off the wire LOL...

Yep, that's the number. Thank you so much Ash. Now Capital One is indeed the number one card in my wallet!!! I was almost too shy to say the "phrase that pays" but I'm glad I stuttered through it cause it paid off big tyme!!

I Was Skeptical But... on 2008-04-25
I was skeptical that this number would work but I did call and explained that my credit had improved since I opened the accounts and that I would like to know if they were eligible for CLIs. The representative took 2 seconds and doubled my credit limits on both of the cards.

The Number Does Work!!!! on 2008-05-02
Hi every body, this is my first comment but I have been reading the reviews for a while, I have a Capital One, it was my first card, I got it more than 1 year ago and never got a CLI, I just call the magic number and WAO, they increased my CL in $300 to $1050, tha was easy!!!
I have also an AMEX, another from Wamu with $1750 CI and my scores are 670; 704; 700
