elle_13's review: Ive had this card since May of 2007, I havent had any problems so far. My initial limit was $500.00 and although the 100.00 cli fee is steep, I've went form 750 to 950 in two months! The monthly fee is annoying but I unlike first premier who I have had for over a year with no clis! It seems that applied is working to keep the customer.

Keep Working On It on 2008-03-04
Keep working on building your credit and it will open doors to bigger and better things related to credit in your life.
Does this card charge you all those ridiculous upfront fees like First Premier Bank does?

I applied for this card and got nothing but another inquiry. Admitadly, I have a couple of collections from years back, but my score is at around 600 on all the agencies - well above their posted minimums. About 6 months ago I was approved by Capital One and Hooters with a FICO 30 points lower.
They sent me an application for a secured account along with their denial.

Sorry this happen, but I think that was the best thing that could have happend to you. This card is formerly Cross Country Bank, they just changed the name. Your two approvals that you just mentioned is the best ones to have. Pass this up and chop it up. Go on about your merry way.

Re: Upfront Fees on 2008-03-05
I had a inital cl of 500 and a yearly fee of 78 dollars I think? First premier only gave me a cl of 250!! On top of all the crappy fees!!! And aside from the mnthly this is awfully comparable to my orhards an fee...

First Premier V. Applied on 2008-03-05
Yeah, First Premier sucks, I have them as well. I think Allied also have lik $200 of opening fees associated with this card as well, but a higher initial CL, which is why I applied.
Like I said, I applied for the card, so obviously I wanted it.
So far I have to say the best ones that I have are Capital One, Hooters, and Orchard. Capital One has already upped my credit limit almost 100% in the few months that I've had it, and Orchard and Hooters don't have the crazy joining fees. If you think about it, the joining fees for some of these sub-prime cards basically make them a secured card, don't they? Only difference is that you don't get your money back when you close the account.
Oh well, hopefully in a year or so our credit will be somewhat better so we won't have to deal with cards like Applied, First Premier, or Continental Finance. Until that day, I guess we just have to grin and bear it.

Wait a minute Ellen, you said that you got two $100 cli and the cost of $200? Wow. Try Tribute, you don't to ask for an increase the fees are steep at first... But I'm not going to give $100 for $100. That would go on a secured card. Orchard Bank, is another option. I was going to apply for this one, but that $100 fee for cli is scary. Again... Try Tribute and Orchard. Good luck!
