crazy2k5's review: I just canceled this card today. I was thinking about it for a while. After speaking with a representative I decided to cancel. I have had this card for 2 and a half years with no cli. It has a $300 cl and a $79 annual fee. I applied for a credit limit increase in September and was denied. They told me I was late in July. The payment was due on the 15th but they said they didn't get it until the 19th. Mean while I looked at my checking account online and Julys payment was posted on the 12th. I didn't even get a late payment fee. This is one of my longest cards on my report but I am willing to take the hit. I have another card with them I opened around the same time. I am gonna keep that one. Im just not goint to use it.

You should've just kept this card and put it into your sock drawer because if this your credit card with the longest payment history, it is very important for your report.
Creditors usually give you 90 day if you want to re-open your account. Did you try to get them to waive the annual fee?

This was one of my longest accounts. I have a couple of accounts that was opened within the same time period. They wouldnt budge on anything. Not even the annual fee. I have one HSBC account that was opened a couple of months before this one and a merrick bank account that was opened about 2 months after this one.

Orchard / HSBC will not lower its fees or anything this is a card I have gotten rid of its one that won't grow with ya and has to many fees. Annual fee, cli fee, high interest fee etc get rid of em while ya can... Use them for one yr and then burn that card lol.

I have the Best Buy Rewardzone Mastercard and I didn't have to pay an annual fee. However, the thing I hate about them is that it takes 2-3 days until they post your payment to your account, they don't tell you when they report your balance to the CB's and it takes a while for them to report your balance to the CB's every month. The only reason why I'm keeping the card is because they gave me a $1,000 CL and it helps out my utilization.

I have a Orchard Bank card also my longest history. I called the backdoor number a few days ago and had my annual fee which was $79 now $26. I also had the interest rate lower. I still have it sock drawered.

I just called to get an increase. They gave me $100. But they did lower my annual fee. I think I am gonna follow behind you and put this card away. Thanks again.
