I applied for this card a week ago and was approved for a measley $150 limit. I called and asked the customer service rep how to get a better limit. She asked how much I would like and I said $400. She increased my limit to $500 on the spot. I could have asked for more but I didn't want to risk overspending. Ask and you will receive. I am very happy to have this card. My credit is considered fair. I was in the poor family for years. I now have a home depot, wamu Visa, juniper MasterCard, and Bank of America cards. Good luck to all of you rebuilding you credit, it does pay off! My score is now around 665 compared to 450 several years ago. By the way, I love the extra discounts JCPenny cardholders get. I bought an $80 outfit for $34!

You are going to get a better limit in a few months. When I initially applied for the card I received $500. This was in July or August of 2007, I called in for a cli in December and received a total limit of $1500. I was sooo happy. You have very nice cards, congrats on your score increases. It takes time, but we will soon get there..:)

Meya, I can't believe they gave you a $1000 increase in just 5 months, that is great! I really have something to look forward to. Thanks for the info.
