kristy's review: I haven't seen any reviews for the salutecard or for the aspen credit card. Has anyone had any of these cards. If so could you please let me know your experience with either of these two cards. Thanks

Hi Kristy, not too many people here are enthused about secured cards. The best bet is to get one from your local (major) bank. If you have this card, can you be the first to post so that others may become encouraged from your experience? I am not familiar with the card myself, I just see it from time to time under secured cards.

Hi,
Yes I have those cards. Salute, Aspen and Tribute. Their start up fees are high though. The only reason I open the cards is to boost my credit score which was in the low low 500's. They have served their purpose and I am in the process of closing them. Tribute and Salute allow you to view your account online and Aspen only allows you to pay online. Salute just added a 5.00 fee to pay. They will increase your limit automatically in 3 months and several times after that. They also report to all three credit bureaus. I know there are a lot of people that have had some really bad experiences with them, for me personally I watch everything online like a hawk, always pay online to make sure that you payments get posted. And again once your scores go up close it because there are a lot of other cards that are much better once you get a good FICO.

Bank of America Secured card. $99 one time security for $500 line of credit. Good for a starter card.
