My son was approved for this card. He applied online and received the 7-10 day message. He received a call two days later by a representative of Cap1 that he was approved, but they needed to verify his identity. He had to send a copy of his ID, bank statement (he did not have a utility bill under his name), and a copy of his social security card. Surprisingly, the day we got the call to send in the verification, was the same day the card came in the mail. We could not activate it, however, until the documents were received by Cap1. We scanned then faxed everything over and the next day the "hold" on the card was lifted.

I forgot to mention, they pulled Experian, score is 679. New to credit so nothing else was pulled. CL $300.

Capital One is a nice starter card. Will open doors as soon with other companies. Good choice. Congrats!
