I applied for this card on 2/16 and was instantly denied due to too many recent inquiries. They pulled experian and my fico score was 729 at time of application. I applied for this card back in june of 2011 and was also denied. Im pretty much ready to give up applying with american express

You should give up on Amex corp and any other Amex card. Merchants in the US and abroad are starting to not take the card due to Amex's high processing fees not to mention the mother ship is run by a bunch of idiots. I called Amex a week before my trip to Europe told them exactly where I would be and even went so far as to tell them how much I planned to spend and what locations. I used my card for a hotel check in and was declined. I called them toll free from abroad and was told oh sorry it wont happen again. Two more times and declined. That is when I put my Platinum card in the old shredder and sent it back where it came from with a don't solicit me again letter. Amex once a great company and card now I would consider them sub-par at best.

Thanks. It just is irritating when American Express is the only creditor that has EVER denied me credit, I just don't understand it. Every time when I've applied with Bank of America, Discover, Chase, or Citi, they are willing to offer me credit.
