Thought I would take a chance and apply for this card knowing that AMEX has already declined me for 4 of their cards already. (expect for the AMEX Green & Gold Cards) Well I didn't get an instant decline or approval but a pending status. Does anyone know if this is good or is this just another way of saying declined, you're letter will be in the mail within the next 14 days. Should I call them to find out the status or wait until I hear from them?

Paula if you go to AMEX website you will find a section that allows you to check the status of your application and all that you have applied for in the last six months good luck

I got approved for this card and initially got the processing status. It stayed that way until I called in and spoke to someone. At that point she told me I was approved and then the status on the website changed. I don't remember how long I waited before I called but that is what I did. Hope it helps. In fact if you look at my previous comments on this card you will get an idea.

In Progress on 2007-09-18
I checked the AMEX website to verify the card status and it still reads, "In Progress" I called today trying to find out what the issue was and as asked a few questions by the CSR. She stated that that we just needed to verify some information with you and now that I have this updated in the record the process will continue. (she just asked my name and confirmed that I was apply for the Delta Gold Card and that I currently have two other cards with them) She told me to call back in a couple of days to check the status again. The agony of waiting is killing me. Is this a good sign that I will eventually get approved for the card?

Called again today to check status since the website still says "In Progress", spoke to the rep who said that my card has been approved. So this is it for me, I finally got myself an AMEX Gold Credit Card and I'm done applying for credit. Since finding this website, I've probably added about 12 inquiries to my credit report and have obtained 7 new credit cards that I really don't need.

So this is it for me, I finally got myself an AMEX Gold Credit Card and I'm done applying for credit. I applied for an Amex delta skymiles card and on the application status page it says "In Progress" does it mean a denial? no CR was pulled at any of the credit bureaus.
