This card is in no way affiliated with Iberia Bank, rather just a review of Garrett State Banks gold Visa card. Applied two weeks ago and met with my loan officer yesterday, instantly approved for their best card, which is the gold, had thier Visa Classic card for well over 2 years with a $500.00 limit and 15.9% APR on purchases and cash advances. My score at that time was 480, my credit score at the time of approval with the gold card was 676 TransUnion, which they use 04 Classic Scoring model. Credit limit on the gold card is $5000.00 with a fixed APR of 14.9% Even though I lost out with Navy FCU, I feel like this was a nice bounce back to something just as good! ;)

Congratulations! You scored (FICO) big with the Garrett State Bank Gold Visa. Garrett State Bank has a very interesting heritage in the founding of our nation and has a five star bank rating (top rating). Your FICO Score improvement and working with your local bank has been an inspiration to those of us who might have wondered if there is an after when we have had low credit ratings! Thanks for the comments Wanderer, you know as well as me and others who are members on this board, that credit isnt something thats just handed to us, we have had to work hard at getting the best rates, the best limits, and the best service. In the credit game in this day in age, bigger banks are even more picky, and toss even some of the better 700+ and higher to the side for cream of the crop consumers 750+ and higher. Thats why I have always lived by this rule, support your local banks and credit unions, show them how much you appreciate them by maximizing the most you can out of their services, when you invest in them, they will invest in you! When my loan officer didnt get back with me right away, I sort of took it personal, but at the same time, I understand now why he did what he did, he wasnt overstepping his lending authority, he was just making sure I got treated fairly and he was doing things within the policies of the bank. Not to mention the fact that not too many customers get handed their best card either, that came straight from him! So that tells me he values my relationship with that bank! ;)

Thanks Colonative, I remember back when I had a Norwest Gold Visa back in 1999, I thought I was something! I was 20 years old and had no business having a card with a 10,000 dollar limit! When I think back now, I was way too young and immature to handle those kind of cards with those limits, it took me loosing my credit privileges at 24 years old to now 33 years old to respect my credit and use it wisely!
