chris's review: I got a pre-selected offer for this card in the mail today. I currently have a HSBC MasterCard.
Anyway got approved for a 300 limit for the Rewardszone card. But what strikes me as odd is that a month ago I applied for a HSBC discover branded card and they denied me.
The reasoning was I have maximum amount of cards that u can have with hsbc. This made no sense since I only have one card with them and this Best Buy MasterCard with be my second card I have with them. Anyone have any input?
Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris. My take is I can't figure out these credit card companys at all!!! But I do have 4 cards with HSBC, Orchard Visa and MC, Dircet Rewards Discover and this card. They also have sent me offers for the GM Flex and Cinncinatti Reds MC. Hope this info helped.

The approval and underwriting for this card does not come from hhld n, a as the other cards do. It comes from hhld financial services and best buy them self as I recently check with them on the matter... Any accounts you May of had in the last 12 years with hhld financial services will be looked at and if any where ever late or in default denied will be the answer hope this helps..

Thanks for the information. I suppose they handle retail MasterCards or Visas or whatever quite a bit differently. Anyway I did get approved with a much lower score then what finance globe recomened. I'm in the process of rebuilding my credit. Only 2 more years till my baddies come off and my report should be clean.
Thanks again for the imput guys.

They said the same thing to me also Chris. I have the Orchard Card with them, so I decided to call in and see if they had any other cards that I can apply for. They told me YES, I qualify for a Orchard Platinum Card, I was like, "How can you offer me a card with a max of $750 limit when I have your card already with a $1300 limit?" So like a dummy I took a chance and said I'll take it and was denied due to having the Max amount of HSBC Cards with them. Well I called in after receiving the letter and was told that the only way you can recive two Cards is if you were solicited through mail or email offer. Well I was solicited through an email offer and was denied again for the same reason, that is when I called in and cursed them out... Lol. Oh well Congrats on your new card, please let us know about your future experiences with it ok.
