arnojab's review: Callout Comment I applied for the discover more card on 5/1/11.I got the we need more time to process your application massege.Exactly one week later, I recieved a letter from them saying that they can not approve me for the card on the terms requested, but they have an allternative offer, and i need to call back. I did call back and the c.s.r. explained to me that i was approved for the card ,but with a higher a.p.r. 19.99% . Every thing else the same. No annual fee, six month no interest, and cash rewards. She asked me if I accept the new terms ,I did. After verifying some info. and few security questions,I got my discover card. Limit $1000.00. My experian plus score at the time was 702.I do not know what my fico score is.

Remarks Discover is a joke of a card, very high APR's and very low credit limits, I finally got an increase on my account which I had open since 2000. I don't care that they bought out Dinners club from citibank, it still wont really make much of a difference for them. Not to mention the card is an even bigger joke overseas no on takes it!

Remarks Actually I think Discover is a good card to have. It's a prime card and they have won several customer service awards. Sorry to hear you're not satisfied with them Sethatco.

Remarks Congratulations!!! I have Discover More card since 07/08. I've been very pleased with them so far! Started at CL $3,000 & now at $5,000. I agree with Joeyman! They've got great customer service.

Remarks Congratulations! The APR is high, but on rewards cards it pays not to pay interest. I have always found Discover to have pretty much top customer service. I believe buy purchasing the Diner's Club NETWORK, Discover is paving the way for international acceptance. Soon, wherever Diner's Club is accepted, Discover can be accepted. Discover is conservative with the credit line but if you use it regularly, they will increase the limit.

Remarks Congradulations on your new card. I have over 23 Credit cards including this one around 100K in available credit. I have to say the customer service for discover is great!!! But then again this is a bank and not a credit union so the credit lines are low and the interest rates are high. Your experian plus score is a bout a 711 in fico score. That is really good and if you have somewhat low in quirys and 1year + in credit histor you have a good chance at getting a credit union credit card with a good interest rate and credit line. See below for details

Banks:

Hooters (Merric Bank) $1,900 Limit
Chase 3K limit
Discover 1.5K limit
AMEX no preset
HSBC: $1,200 limit
GEMB: $2000.00
and many more.....

And Now for the Credit union credit limits:

APG Credit Union: $10,300 limit
Navy Federal Credit Union: $15,000
Navy Federal Credit Union: $15,000 2nd One
Harco Credit Union: $12,000 limit

Keep in mind I applied for all these cards above within a 3 month span and with a fico range from 700-730.

I first applied for the bank ones and then when I got approved I applied for the the credit union ones 10x the limit of the bank ones so I was surprised.

I have noticed that if you do not have a 780 or higher don't expect to get more then 10k with a bank but if you have a 680 or higher with a credit union expect to get a nice limit close to or over 10K and a great interest rate.

Additional Information:

23 inquirys
1.7 years history
30 and 60 day lates 5+ years ago
Debt 2.5K available credit around 100K

Interest Rate:

Chase: 22%
Discover 17.9%
AMEX no preset 2.99% after 30 days (charge Card)
HSBC: 19.9%
GMAC:23.9%

and Now for the Credit union credit Interest

Interest Rate: (Credit Unions)

APG Credit Union: 10.99%
Navy Federal Credit Union: 12.99%
Navy Federal Credit Union: 12.99% 0% for 12month
Har Co: 9.99 %
