jay7698's review: Callout Comment This card has to be 1 of the worst credit cards ever. They don't help you build credit they help you destroy your credit! If you decide to get this credit card you will see even with a zero monthly balance you will owe a monthly fee for maint. Fees and if you don't check your monthly balance you will be upset with late charges and other charges they come up with. Don't listen to others leaving Messages that continental helped them fix there credit most likely its someone from continentals P. R Department. So please save your self the Head Ache DO NOT APPLY FOR this CCARD!!!

Remarks Thanks for the input. Secured cards from credit unions, Orchard Bank, and Capital One secured are on the top of my list.

Remarks The previous poster made some good suggestions. Many people on the FG site have gone with credit unions, department store cards and secured or unsecured bank mastercard or visa credit cards to build a solid credit bureau reporting base. After a couple of years they start to seek prime cards and loose (or sock draw) the sub-prime cards.

Remarks Local credit unions are the wayto go if you are a customer of the bank. Best to go witha secured card and prove yourself worthy to them. Some unions will either unsecure you after a year, or issue you an unsecured card once you have. Some can't, and those who apply for these "rebuilder" cards need to know the rules of the game going in. There are always fees associated with these, higher rates, lower lines, etc. But, you must educate yourself first upfront, and know when these fees post, and keep up with your account. It's the price you pay when rebuilding, but always try to go through a credit union, or a reputable bank, such as Cap One, or Orchard.
