bc8787's review: Good card. DSNB does not give you a credit limit on this card. They give you a "suggestion line" so you are not penalized for not going over. Macy's has great specials on certain days for macy's credit card holders. They run specials like %15 off for Macy's card holders and the amount gets taken off at check out. APR is not that bad.

Awful Customer Service on 2011-04-10
The Card is okay, high apr and decent savings. However recently DSNB aka Citi bank has moved all the CS off shore to India. Its just horrible they are rude, nasty and try and talk down to you like you're a moron. I called yesterday because what they dont tell you is that when you get a AMEX card you still have a store account and even if you use the AMEX inside macys it gets charged to the store account. PS I over paid my AMEX account which had a zero balance and the funds never went to pay the store account. I was hit with a late fee and raise in apr. 55 minutes of dealing with barely English speaking folks I got the charges reversed. This card as well as my AMEX will be going right into the sock draw!

Yeah I was aware of that situation that's why I chose to stick with the non AMEX card. I don't think I have ever called customer service but now that I know that it is a lot easier just to e mail them a question rather than call. Thats what I have to do with my capital one card. You can't understand a word that they are saying in the country they are in so I just send an e mail and the communcation is fine.

As my memory serves me, Macy's is now serviced by Capital One effective to April 1, 2011. The continued restructuring of Citi Bank had their retail card portfolio transferred out. Also, if you receive customer service from an outsourced provider and are unable to understand the provider's customer service representative, ask for an English Speaking Supervisor and remind them English is still number one in the USA. It works every time. Due to customer complaints about understandability, some banks have returned their customer service to the USA.
