vmoore0607's review: I love everything about apple and their products. I applied for this card because I am interested in purchasing a computer in the upcoming months. I was denied but when I called to see if they would reconsider, they told me to try back in 30 days. I was not denied due to bad credit or anything. I was denied due to low credit limits on my cc that I have. They told me to let my balance on my current credit card show close to the limit and that will show them that I could handle a large purchase. The rep gave me some really good advice and I appreciated talking to them. They said that as long as I call them back within 60 days that they will not pull another hard credit report. I definitely look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I wouldn't suggest this card. People who I've talked to end up getting small limits that don't cover the cost of the computer. You may be better off applying for a Best Buy card or a regular credit card. And remember, Apple doesn't own this credit card company and only has contract running with them.

I agree with Joey, Barclays is a joke here. Plus, correct me if I am wrong, but did the rep actually tell you to be at your credit line on one of your existing cards? That will lower your debt to credit ratio... And lower your FICO along with it.
You would be better off getting a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Amex that offers a low rate intro APR for purchases and buying it that way or as Joey suggested a Best Buy card.
Do you know what your scores are? If Barclay's is declining you (subprime bank) than you may want to hold off on applying for anything until your FICO score goes up.

Barclay doesn't always approve/deny based on credit scores (they seem to love TU). They needle through your credit report (at least the human analysts do) and clarify before making recon decisions.
In any event, of course Amex, Discover, Citi, etc. are better choices, but in many instances these companies blacklist people with certain items on their credit report (BK comes to mind) and routinely deny people with high 600s and low 700s. If you don't believe me, just take a gander at the MyFICO message board and the accounts from applicants.
Barclay provides rebuilders with a pretty good card (no AF, competitive APR) and a decent opening line if your income supports it. It serves a purpose for some members.
